  • Register for a DE Empathy Chat

Over the last few weeks, we have learned the importance of connecting with each other and keep our sights set on brighter days ahead. With that in mind, we are excited to introduce a new opportunity for DE Alumni: Empathy Chats. Empathy Chats are limited to the DE audience and are a way to practice empathetic communication and meet other interesting DEs.

    How It Works
Each week, DEs will be able to opt-in and register for a DE Empathy Chat. Once the registration period has closed, pairs of registered DEs will be randomly selected and introduced via email. You will then need to pair up to arrange one 30-minute virtual coffee/tea/beverage session, the time and date are of your choosing but it must take place within the designated week.

The topics for each Empathy Chat are up to you and your partner. The Foundation team has gathered some best practices for empathetic communication. So whether you are very skilled at this or need some brushing up, we would encourage you to use this as your practice ground AND have the bonus of meeting a fellow DE you may not have otherwise met.

There is no cost to participate. Once you register, you are committing to arranging to meet with the DE you are paired with. Participants should come ready to share, listen, and practice empathy.
  • Register for the Annual Tom Connors Memorial DE Luncheon!

The Annual Tom Connors Memorial DE Luncheon will be held on Sunday, February, 23, 2020 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Clyde's of Gallery Place. This is the one time during CUNA's GAC that DE Alumni can come together to network and learn about important DE updates from the Foundation. Brunch will be served.
  • DE Advisory Committee - Call for Candidates

The DE Advisory Committee is a standing committee of the National Credit Union Foundation comprised of  US DEs that serve the Foundation with the purpose of providing strategic guidance and acting as advocates for the DE Program in both their individual networks and the broader credit union community.

For the upcoming term, there are two open seats on the Advisory Committee, which will be determined through an election by US CUDE peers. If you are interested in running for the DE Advisory Committee, please click here to complete the Statement of Interest form. Please note, answers will be shared with DEs during the voting process. The form will remain open until 5 PM (CST) on November 6th.
  • DE Impact Report

We’re excited to provide you with a copy of the first-ever Impact Report for the National Credit Union Foundation’s Credit Union Development Education (DE) Program.

This report summarizes the past year of DE Programs and related efforts. Most importantly, it’s our chance to recognize and give thanks to the amazing participants, volunteers and supporters who helped us to make it a great year.

YOU are what make the program so special, and we hope you take pride in the work that we are doing to advance the DE Program and in turn, the credit union movement.

  • 2020 DE Scholarship Application Now Available!

The National Credit Union Foundation is proud to support DE scholarships - provided by the DE Scholarship Fund – which offer full registration for individuals to attend one of the U.S. DE Programs in 2020. These scholarships are intended to provide leaders and emerging leaders from small credit unions and international DEs the opportunity to attend our program. Each scholarship covers a full DE Program registration as well as lodging and meals during the training. Please note that scholarship winners must provide their own transportation to participate.

Our DE Scholarship online application will be open today through October 25, 2019 with applicants being notified in early November of their status. We hope you’ll share the application with others.
  • Welcome to the DE Action Network!

We are so excited to launch the DE Action Network and connect DEs around the country!
  • 2020 DE Training Dates

Mark your calendars! We are happy to announce the dates for our 2020 DE Programs:

    March 29 - April 4
    May 10 - 16
    September 13 - 19
    November 8 - 14

All four trainings will be held in Madison, WI. In 2020, we will be shifting our program to begin on Sunday evening and conclude on Saturday morning. This change will improve our access to volunteers and resources, and provide more flexibility and opportunities for activities outside of the classroom.
